Inherited a Website

I honestly don't know where else to go. So I have inherited this website. I purchased a new domain and planned on changing the name of the website. I have updated the NS setting to redirect from google (where I purchased it) to the hosting site. But its not redirecting I guess. I am beginning to get really burnt out attempting to figure out what's wrong. On top of that I am just trying to essentially archive the old site into the new one to allow old posts to be access able. I have created websites before on wix but now I am moving to wordpress so it feels like trying to read hieroglyphs trying to navigate and create.

Am I overthinking everything and making this harder than it seems? I feel so lost.
