Collection of Arbitrary No. of Repeating Fields: Possible? Or Alt Suggestion for My Goal
Howdy, Webflow folks.
I'm working on a WF project and am running into a challenge I'm not sure WF can actually address. I spent years as a WordPress dev and am used to using custom CMS fields to make all kinds of complex content data structures for dynamic templates. Most of what I want to do in WF doesn't seem possible.
**Context:**
I have a Collection called "Projects". On the single Project template, I want to have a slider. Click on slider, it opens a lightbox of the same images from the slider, ***but also be able to show a video associated with a particular static image in the slider***.
There are dozens of Projects and each can have an arbitrary number of images for the slider. The CMS doesn't seem to have a way to have "repeater fields" (how I'm used to calling them from WP+ACF land), can only have static fields. By "repeater field", I mean being able to have a field (e.g., "Slides") that can be instantiated an arbitrary number of times on a given post (Project, in this case) and have sub-fields ("Image" and "Video", in this case being one instance of the "Slide" field) so that I can do a Collection List for the slides in the native Slider element as well as the associated Lightbox element.
After digging around the docs and scoping posts, I don't believe it's possible to achieve this in WF natively but wanted to ask the community on the off-chance I've just missed something.
Thank you! If you have any suggestions on how best to accomplish this setup using what WF *does* have, please let me know!
