Art is an extremely important part of making a webtoon!

So recently I've seen some comments saying basically that pretty art is what'll attract the readers, but good writing will keep them, so don't worry too much about having good art. But in a webcomic, art *is* how you tell the story! Art and dialogue! Everyone seems to agree that big exposition dumps are boring, show don't tell and all that, but in a webtoon you're meant to do the "show" bit *with the art*!

Putting a "and \[character name\] felt sad/angry/etc" over an expressionless shot of their face or like, a teacup or something won't be as effective as showing that the character is upset! The writing goes into the art! If webtoons really were about just getting a neat thumbnail and then pure writing with words, they wouldn't be web*toons*, they'd be web*novels* or something!

I agree that webtoons don't need to have the best, most sparkly, anatomically correct art in the universe, and canvas comics shouldn't be held to the standards of originals for sure, but the art should be expressive and easy to understand, because that's how the storytelling is meant to happen!! Stop telling people that webtoon art doesn't matter!!
