Bride aisle walk with sister and niece
I'm a September 2026 bride. π
140 days as The Knot reminded me just now. Hahaha!
My father passed away over 20 years ago. My mom never re-married. She has dementia sadly, and is in a nursing home. In addition, she is wheelchair bound. I've hired a private aide to bring her to the wedding but she will be unable to escort me down the aisle in anyway. She will be front and center though!
I've asked my older sister and my niece to walk me down the aisle.
Question - there is not enough aisle room at the outdoor venue to have them both on either side. I thought about having them one-step behind me, on either side, but my train is wide and long (and totally beautiful). I'm thinking they walk together, immediately, like one-step, in front of me. But then I'm blocked from pictures, and we're not all captured together. I mean I can be several steps back, but does this lose the "walk me down the aisle vibe". Thoughts? I so appreciate this sub for ideas, inspiration and guidance. First time bride, 49 years old, and found my true sole mate. π
