What is this??

My mother and I are staying in a Home2 by Hilton (if that helps) and this metal bar is about 2-3” from the ceiling between the couch and beds. My mother thinks it’s for a curtain for privacy but I don’t know if it is because there’s nothing to mount one, and no extra curtains. It could be to hang long dress bags but it seems way too high up to reach.
