This is a long shot, but here goes.

I purchased one of those live basil plants from the grocery store. I have it “potted” in a mason jar. No soil, just water and roots, in a few inches of water. The other day I noticed small creatures swimming around. Not floating, but darting around in the jar, around the roots. Are they some type of large, water bug or insect at all? They are too small to get a good picture of though. They are about the size of a poppy seed. White in color. I can try to get a video if that would help.
