Help identifying this worm western Maryland

My 12yr old found this worm on the sidewalk. I can’t tell if the orange is its butt or head. We flipped it over and it looks like it has maybe 2 little nubs as legs. But the underside is a yellow/orange color. I will try to post a video in the comments. I tried to google lens it and search but can not figure out what it is. Have never seen this before. We’re so curious! I hope to have an answer for him after school.
