American woman in Japan, sleeps with Japanese man then stabbed by his wife

It was one of those super discounted books at Cole's/Indigo and the first page made me interested enough.

From what I remember it's a young American woman who ran away to Japan, sees herself as a screw up and lives haphazardly. She ends up with a Japanese man, who turns out to be married. His wife gets revenge by stabbing her, she survives.

Possibly ends with her going back home.
