Horror with a monkey scene. The thing inspired.

There is a scene where a woman is looking for something, the rest of the crew is on a radio with her. There is a jump scare, but it’s just the pet monkey. She says so on the radio, but the people on the radio have the monkey. She turns around and it has changed into a monster. Very reminiscent of the thing. I think I was 13 when I saw it so this is late 80s, early 90s.
