Cricket wasp?

Central-ish Texas. I remove about 3-4 of them daily from my house. They seem to follow us in. Curious/aggressive, but don't seem to want to sting or anything, just buzz you a lot in your face and follow you around. Sorry for the poor photo, it didn't want to stay still in the glass. Anyway, waspish looking and slightly iridescent blue/green shimmer. Maybe \~2 cm? I've been telling my wife they're cricket wasps, but I'm not 100% sure on that.
