Ramp terror

Not sure if there’s any help I want if I just want to vent.

I’m supposed to go to an event at a friends house. I’ve been to this friends house before and they rented a temporary ramp for me to get in. It seemed incredibly shaky and was a terrifying experience.

Now my wheelchair weighs 100 lbs more. My friend said she wanted to rent ramp. So I gave her all the specs of my wheelchair including our total weight together. Well we just spoke this evening because she had some questions about doorways and I asked about the ramp situation. She said “it’s the same ramp as before” as if that would be comforting.

I don’t know what to do but don’t even want to go. I don’t feel safe even if the ramp specs say it can carry this weight. But I get out so little that I’m somewhat agoraphobic at this point. Maybe it’s just that.

So now what? How do other people deal with terror of ramps collapsing under their weight?
