Rye Old Fashioned

I was told higher proof Rye was good for cocktails. Decided to switch my Bourbon for some bottled in bond Rittenhouse. Syrup, bitters, 3 bourbon cherries. Stirred in ice, then poured over the ice ball. Only 51% Rye, but it has a good spicy bite and the 100 proof is appreciated with the ice. I'll still mostly drink neat but here's to making it halfway through the week.
