Weird final boss fight

So I am pretty new to the game, started playing yesterday. And pretty decent too, since I got a 2 win streak before unlocking the shadow tribe.

Just wanted to talk about my most recent win. Unlike my first try when I absolutely curbstomped the final boss, the unexpected penalty of facing my first team shredded most of my new team (especially my old leader - had a 1 turn freeze, barrage and counterattack), leaving me in an awkward one on one with the final boss (had between 20-30 hp) and a leader who did about 2 damage at a time, inflicting 1 frost on a 4 turn attack cooldown. My leader was also in oneshot range of the boss.

Luckily, I had 5 cards left, including two snow sticks and one sun rod, and my bell had a 3 turn cooldown. I carefully used those cards to permastun the boss (who could only freeze for one turn at a time) and used the bell every time it was free since I would always draw the same 5 cards. A very close win
