Bordeauxgiving
Started off Thanksgiving with a Bernard Bremont Rose which was lovely and berry forward. Followed with a 2020 Caroline by Chantegrive with a smoked salmon crustini. This was by far the most disappointing wine of the night. Followed with duck confit and venison for which these were opened.
Alter ego was opened and decanted for sediment, there wasn’t much. Nose had a delicious aroma of mushroom and forest floor, with lovely violets, sage and menthol. Velvety smooth tannin with a medium plus body.
Lynch Bages was opened and decanted for half an hour. Tight with tart black cherry, spice, and an earthy undertone. Sadly this wine was drunk too quickly to develop further. Would recommend a few more years. Still have three more luckily!
