MrBTongue's Witcher related videos for while we wait.

I apologize in advance, this post is informal and I think *very* parenthetically.

Stumbled on this guy's youtube channel a long while ago. He's very eloquent and makes some nice videos (great editing, use of music, and narrative analysis) related to gaming, movies, and more (he got his start analyzing the end game of Mass Effect). I've even met him playing online (his voice is pretty recognizable) and he's a chill person. I highly recommend [MrBTongue's channel](https://www.youtube.com/user/MrBtongue), just keep in mind he's pretty busy and doesn't post that often and his discussions can get into some pretty in depth literary analysis. However, he has two videos (one was posted here a few months back) that relate to the Witcher as a brand. These might help you consider some things about the game for discussions, and perhaps things to look for in W3.

A solid discussion about the mature rating in games, and how he'd like to see (TUN means he's griping about something) the mature label extend into a more literary realistic (even for fantastic genres) platform. This is in steep contrast to the repetitive hero's journey or monomyth, and a request to raise the M rating above over the top violence and sexy times alone. He heralds W1 and W2 for attempting to walk this line, and hopes that DA3 makes a solid attempt in this direction as well. Note: this video is over a year old.

He made this one fairly recently, and it can be found in a thread here a few months ago with a quick search. This is not intended as a repost, just as a place to look for some key discussions for Witcher beyond the downgrading topic for any who may have missed it.

This video highlights some strengths in the Witcher series for wading into a uncomfortable narrative zone. You have major characters who aren't on a binary moral line, and can gain nuances in the way you relate to them and how they extend the world by being more of a moral hybird. Iorveth is a mass murderer/ terrorist, and yet we find him attempting to rise out of that path alone for a greater goal. Roche is a secret police/ thug who we may want to vouch for due to a promise we made early on. And because we can interact with these characters on a grey path we can get a better development of the world and it's diversity. He contrasts this to a game that failed to do this right: Watch Dogs, and to a character (Iron Bull) that does this right in DA3.

------- [**TUN: Magic!**](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VHrTTgmB_3w)

Though this video doesn't deal with the Withcer at all, it deals with wizards as an archtype. Using Tolkien's Gandalf and Saruman as evocative literary devices that are powerful to our understanding, having elements that echo well beyond the original scope. This video deals with the recent rise of fantasy genre in movies, books, and games. Some good stuff to think about in this one that may relate to the Witcher's magic use and fantasy elements.

----- If you liked those, do take the time to watch more of his videos! Thanks for reading!
