The absence of False Ciri in The Witcher 3
Sorry if this is something that's been brought up before, but I just wondered if there's ever been an official explanation for what happened to False Ciri in the games? For the record, I know she got cut from the game, and that she really doesn't make much sense story-wise considering the Empress-ending, but going on the basis that she's indirectly referred to in the second game, I'm gonna assume she's still canon to the world of the games. Just saying "don't think about it" or she isn't canon" feels too lazy, so I'd at least try to at least *try* to make sense of it, even if it's dumb.
The most popular theory regarding her seems to be that she died, but that seems weird to me, seeing as she was still alive in TW2 and it would be odd for no one to mention that the empress of Nilfgaard recently died. Besides, as far as I know her death wouldn't make it easier for Ciri to take control anyway, so I'm not sure what it would really solve. I'm not saying it's impossible Emhyr had her assassinated, but it seems a little out of character for him considering he apparently loved her.
To me the most logical way to explain it is that Emhyr came clean to the more powerful nobles in Nilfgaard, which would explain why they're so eager to have him killed. The official story will probably be something akin to Ciri being his adoptive daughter or something, but her betrothal to Voorhis means she'll probably have all the political standing needed to become ruler no matter what. Yes, there are still some plot-holes here, but this is the explanation that makes the most sense to me at least.
I'm not claiming to be an expert or anything though, so feel free to tell me if I'm wrong or missing something. Or better yet, if anyone has another theory then by all means share it!
EDIT: Typo.
