Malice Dungeon - Collecting Crystals to burn?

After lighting the cursed torches by collecting teeth, tails, etc… I used the cursed wheel and returned to the torches where I’m “told” that the candlesticks are cursed and I need to collect and burn crystals to purify them. I go to one of the crystals in the dungeon and can’t collect any, I just get the same “ the crystal glows” message and just can’t figure out how to collect them, help?
