1959 Plane Crash in Pemigewasset Wilderness

We had a memorable hike to the site of the February 1959 plane crash in the Pemigewassett Wilderness. The crash site is located on an abandoned trail, across the river from the Thoreau Falls Trail, about a quarter mile (approximate) south of the confluence with Jumping Brook. Two doctors were returning from a medical mission and crash landed. They survived four days but eventually succumbed to the elements.
