Wood filler question

I’m attaching wood slats (pine stained with dark walnut) to a wall with a brad nailer and trying to figure out what product to use to fill the nail holes. Should it be a natural pine filler that I stain? Or should it be a dark walnut wood filler? I unfortunately can’t find the wood filler that matches the stain i used
