Downsides to bevel up smoothing planes?
Curious about folks' experiences. I've read that the newer bevel up smoothing planes are great for finish surfacing especially on figured / curly woods. Aside from re-learning grip and how to adjust, do they come with any serious downsides suggesting that a Stanley no. 4 (or similar) should remain the standard?
