Am I Just Lucky? Whiteside Router Bit QC

I've been slowly upgrading (I thought) my router bits from the (insert tool line name) kits to quality bits. After I experienced a RUD with my first Woodpecker's bit that ruined 20 hrs of work, I made the switch to Whiteside.

And yesterday I pulled out the 3/4" Roundnose I had bought back in October. Thank goodness I was paying attention. That's an egregious crack and scary to think where that shrapnel could have ended up.

Anyone else having quality issues with Whiteside?
