I just got fired

I guess it could also be considered “laid off” since the role was no longer needed. I could see the writing on the wall starting around a year ago so honestly, I was more relieved than surprised. I think my now ex-boss was more surprised I didn’t have a bigger reaction. I just thanked them for their time, packed my things, and left.

I have plenty in savings to cover my bills while I look for something new, so that’s taken a bit of worry out of the whole thing. I think I’ll file for unemployment early next week and just give myself a few days to process all of this.
