Working abroad or traveling?

So here’s the deal. Working from home a lot I started (over)thinking “what the hell am I actually doing with my life?”. I’ve been working at the same place for 4 years, in general pretty content with the situation , but not a lot of opportunity to grow in my company. So ultimately I decided to look for similar jobs abroad, quite difficult as no one really wants to hire a foreigner but what ever, it’s been kind of a dream of mine to live and work abroad for a couple of years. Then a position opened up in my current company which made me change my mind: an exciting opportunity, so I applied. Didn’t make it, less-experienced colleague did get that job, leaving me feeling extremely demotivated, unsure about myself, you get the idea. First instinct was “gonna quit and travel for a while, fuck all this shit”. Feeling pretty confused about the situation, as i’m still thinking about applying to jobs abroad and moving, or if i should just take a break and travel for some time. Any tips, insights, similar experiences? I’m 28, single, saved a lot of money in those 4 years so financial/relationship/family aspect definitely not an issue.
