The sickness is unreal, and frustrating.
Our baby started at a larger daycare three Mondays ago. The first week, she made it a little over a day before getting sick. Last week, she made it three days and got sick with something else. We don’t have family close by, and my husband and I are scrambling to figure out work + sick baby + no daycare. Two weeks in a row we’ve been absolutely exhausted from waking in the middle of the night for days at a time to tend to our sick babe.
I feel like a broken record having to tell my boss that, yes, the baby is sick AGAIN. Today we attempted to send the baby to daycare and she is fine…for now. But of course, earlier this afternoon **I** started feeling a headache and a sore throat, because I guess we can’t catch a break in this house no matter how careful we’re being.
I have an underlying health condition, so sicknesses hit me harder than they do other folks, and on top of that, I have to work and pump and aaaaaaaaaahhhhhh. I have been dreading this so much and I knew it was coming. But still. I don’t know what to do. We are both utterly exhausted.
We can’t pull the baby out of daycare - we both need to work. And I hate that we can’t afford to have one of us stay home. I don’t see how this is sustainable. This is literally three weeks now of sickness. Ugh. Just ugh.
