What ideas are trending in the worldbuilding zeitgeist?

I saw an older post discussing how they (the poster) was tired of worlds that were Dark-Souls-Like, defined as "motivated by the breakdown and insanity of a number of small gods."

Come to think of it, I've seen worlds like that... (I loved them, partly because it's something I wouldn't have thought of!) Is it because it's a whole \*thing\* spreading without my cultural awareness?

If you were to make educated guesses, what sorts of tropes, ideas, or settings are currently "trending" among people writing this sort of big-picture speculative fiction these last few years?
