Warlock pylon squad.

Continuation from my last post about pylons, now with better art and crumbs of lore of course! Here Ill go over this squad breakdown thing. The poster inspired by Battle order on YouTube and someone's post here yesterday.

The warlock corps operates in a semi-self sustaining platoon, consisting of 30 experienced personnel with higher density of mages and senior enlisted than the regular infantry divisions for heavy assault.

And about the ‘warlock’ In the name, it doesn't mean anything, the emperor just finds the word cool for propaganda. Fitting really well with their faceless shadowy evil goons he was going for.

They are separated into 4 squads of 2 fire squad, 1 grenadier, 1 pylon.

But here I'll only talk about the pylon squad; their job is to project an aura dome and protecting the rest of the platoon as they advance, while maintaining communication with the rest of the battalion.

Members breakdown:

Squad leader, a highly skilled member, holding a rank of sergeant major (E-7 in this faction). They usually served in the civil war, armed with both a semi-automatic rifle and a side arm. Both are chambered in a 7mm aura piercing round, capable of punching straight through the enemy's protective aura grid. His job is to guide and closely protect the platoon's mage, both in and out of combat; sometimes resorting to physically carrying them.

Platoon mage: Junior commissioned officer with sometimes no active combat experience. Served as both the platoon's defensive aura grid, artillery coordinator and radio operator. Highest target priority on the entire battlefield field, as if their aura is capable of fully silencing enemy's spell casting in an entire city-block wide area. In order to meet the minimum internal reserve and casting mastery, they require college-level education, so, the army basically sends a university student to front lines because they are too snobby to promote actual soldiers to officers. That will end well, surely.

Team leader: Absolute backbone of the imperial army, holds both the rank of non-commissioned officer and mage class of router. Their duty is to direct the rest of the squad, while receiving information pings directly into their brains, both from the pylon scanning the battle field right behind them or the commander back at base. Dual wielding Isya-R2 semi-automatic pistol chambered in 7×25 AP and a shit ton of grenades. The extra ordinance is even more useful on someone who would just know where exactly the enemies are hiding while he perfectly calculates the exact trajectory of his throw. Super mentally numb.

Rifle man: Enlisted members, carrying the Isya-9 semi-automatic blowback rifle. Chambered in powerful 7×40 AP capable of piercing body armor while maintaining perfect reliability even in the worst conditions. Their job is to provide precision fire and holding key areas before infantry reinforcements. Carries two grenades, normal for the unit, sometimes the team leader forces them to carry extra.

Auto rifle man: Cutting down waves of enemies, instead of providing suppression like a regular machine gunner since they got a whole 2 squads with one, it's their job. So they literally use a modified regular rifle, capable of firing full-powered rounds at kinda decent full auto fire rate.

Ammo carrier: In the name.

About the setting: It consists of multiple satirical character-driven short stories and vignetts based around world war two. With magic system centered around technology but with some funny fantasy magic moments once in a while. This faction specificly is based on the Soviet union.(Well, they kinda looks like another country but thats intentional)

I really enjoy 20th century war history slapping my knee laughing at some stupid first hand account, so I decided to make my own.

Again, if you got any questions, just ask in the comments. Also, you can follow me on the shithole app if you interested in more.
