How Dad Friendly is G1 Remake?

This game looks exactly like the kind of game I would enjoy without the modern RPG quality of life conveniences that make you feel like you are completing a checklist.

The one issue I have is very limited time being a dad with young kids.

I have found that to make a game work for me I need the ability to play short sessions - averaging 30min and as short as 15 minutes sometimes and be able to save that progress.

Some games like the Metro series have constant auto checkpoint saves that works very well or like Control where it’s easy to make some progress and run to a control point to manually save.

I don’t have to necessarily make a ton of progress every session. I just don’t want to loose what progress I make because I get interrupted and can’t save the game quick and easily.

How does saving work for the new G1 remake? Trying to decide if I should pick it up or save this game for down the road.
