With cross realm guilds, it'll be even easier to have the name you want

On any large population server it is nearly impossible to get your first, second, or even tenth choice in names without putting in a lot of special accents in your character names, which a lot of people would rather not do. On the other hand on small population servers it's much easier to get your preferred name, but currently raiding options are much harder to non-existent if you want to raid at a high level on those small servers. However with cross realm guilds this issue disappears.

If there's a name you really like, that's not available on your preferred server, but is available somewhere else, just reserve the name now, and come the next expansion, either level a new character on the other realm, or transfer your main over to that other realm to snatch that name.

Now enjoy playing on the server of your choice, with the name of your choice.
