I am a dumb dumb. Anyone else have a facepalm moment like this?

So the past week I decided to dust off the Priest and possibly make him my new main. I'm a healer main who loves having a dps off spec. I've played shaman for years but always liked the light and shadow theme of Priest so finally I'm going for it.

So I was testing out the shadow rotation for 10.2.5 using the first raid guide I found on wowhead. I was appalled. My priest was only around 450 IL, but my dps was atrocious. Much lower than what my other characters at similar levels could pull. I couldn't figure it out. I went online, looked at rotation guides, checked dps rankings, and nothing could explain to me why my dps was god awful. I gave up for several days, sad to have to shelve what I thought would be my new main.

Then two days ago, I gave it another shot. And it hit me. The single target build I imported didn't use shadow crash. I was so used to shadow crash applying my DoTs for me, I was completely neglecting my main two DoTs. I literally laughed at myself. I added them into my rotation and my dps went up over 50%. I felt so dumb, but hey at least I got it now and I'm enjoying all 3 specs.

Just thought I'd share this fun story. Anyone else have a similar experience?
