A replacement for warforging and titanforging.

I see a ton of complaints bashing the forging but almost no real attempts to fix the issue that it is trying to fix.

First the purpose of titanforging is to give a reason for high end players to do lower end content as well as to give a continual reward for playing so that you don't get bored once you get full BIS. Just removing the system will make the problem worse than the fix, sure you can go back to the wrath currency system, but most high end players absolutely hated that because once you were done with your weekly currency which took very little time because they wanted it friendly for casuals you had nothing left to do to progress.

Really I have a system I think would eliminate the issue that would make all parties happy. Instead of the current titanforging you have an entire new system.

First replace the current warforge, when an item drops instead it has a chance to proc where it is bumped to your current ilvl rounded up by 5(so a i320-324 player would get a 325 drop, a 325-329 player would get a 330 drop) as long as it drops from current content.

The chance would be based on the difficulty and repeatability of content. You would do something like 1% for heroic, timewalking, or normal dungeons which are spammable and easy. 2.5% for mythic 0 dungeons because they have more chances for loot than mythic+, 10% for mythic+ up to 5, 15% for mythic+ up to 10 and 20% for mythic+ at 10 or above as well as a 25% chance on your mythic+ chest. For raids LFR would be a 10% chance, 15% for normal, 20% for heroic, and 25% for mythic raids. That would also give a worthwhile reason for high end players to run the mythic raid from the last tier as well. It means that all the raids from the entire expansion stay relevant to players which is one of the biggest issues with the game at the moment.

This would be done to prevent people from just spamming heroic dungeons all day and give a greater reason to do mythic+. It is fair but not being so common that it would be overpowered. Not to mention if there is a particular piece of gear that is BIS you can target it much easier rather than hoping on a .81% chance(actual chance of a +20 titanforge happening).

On top of that it can further titanforge at the current 30% chance per 5 ilvls up to 15 ilvls above your ilvl. This prevents people from really ever titanforging out of their tier but it also means that if you are willing to put in an insane amount of work you can still get insanely well geared. Sure a player can get high gear without ever doing high levels of raiding, but they would have to put an absurd amount of time and work into the game, much more than a mythic raider typically does, since their chances of a forge is much less so even high end players would respect the fact that they spend a huge amount of time and effort to get there.
