World PVP events
I see a lot of people expressing they would like some big open world pvp *stuff* to happen, but i don't see very many actual ideas (unless i missed them).
Here's one that isn't the zone points domination that we've seen such as in Hellfire.
Imagine if there was a weekly event, following the time gate for raids, where a place in the world became a battlefield.
To concentrate participation, this event could be opened only for a specific day each week, or maybe 2 days for accessibility but only doable once. (Specifics like this can be figured out by the real experts).
You would go to your capital city, where an NPC enlister of sorts would tell you where it's at and when. Then you would travel there and be met at your factions base, where you would set up with everyone else and be layered, preventing weird phasing mid battle. Every 1 hour for that day, the start of a new battle would begin and you would spread out in the zone to go fight the enemy.
The point of the game is an increased ore and herbs spawn rate with rare elites that could drop some valuable stuff.
By making a kind a zone wide event with no final boss to end it, you would be enticed to group up with friends and run your own operations to gather stuff and kill enemies.
Then after the hour, eveyone that was in the battle would get a debuff that would entice them to leave at an increasing rate, to let the newer wave of people come in and fight.
Since this is an open world activity, you could technically stay or join whenever, but at your own risk/loss.
Obviously this simple idea is probably full of holes, but most technical issues can easily be solved by clever worldbuilding and systems.
What do you think?
