High Elves Starting Zone - Not Quel’Thalas?
Aggrend said “why not both” when talking about bringing sky elves and high elves to WoW: Forever during the [Q&A](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y5zzSMSVhRo). I’m pretty confident we will eventually get high elves in Forever. However, Quel’Thalas may not make sense as a high elf starting zone.
At this point in WoW’s lore, Kael’thas haa destroyed the corrupted Sunwell, declared the remaining high elves to be blood elves, named Lor’themar the regent of the blood elves in Quel’thalas, and joined Illidan in Outland. Is it possible that some high elves still exist in Quel’thalas? Of course! But the vast majority of these elves are now blood elves, and this area may not make sense as the high elf starting zone.
However, there is a place on the map of circled areas Blizzard wants to expand on in WoW: Forever that could make sense as a high elven starting zone…
There are hardly any places with high elves in Vanilla WoW, but one such place is the Quel’danil Lodge. This lodge just so happens to be next to the only circled area in Lordaeron that we don’t really know anything about (the other two areas clearly being Quel’thalas and Gilneas).
I think Blizzard may be planning to make a new high elf starting zone in the mountains between the Quel’Danil Lodge and Aerie Peak in the Hinterlands and Darrowmere Lake in the Western Plaguelands.
Do you think high elves will come to Forever? If so, do you think they’ll be more likely to start in Quel’thalas, perhaps as outcasts in a mostly blood elven society, or do you think Blizzard might be planning to make a new starting zone for them? Interested in your takes!
