Reminder death note is mid

The plot of this series is only considered good if you're 10 years old. The theme of legacy is nonexistent throughout the entire series until, boom, L dies.

Please don't say L has an ego because this guy knows he's facing the worst possible situation. He works with a select group to whom he reveals his true self for the first time, abandoning his entire essence and basically choosing people who are willing to risk their lives and who actually have a life to risk.

The time skip occurs with just enough pacing so that the morality of the series isn't compromised. Near and Mello are the same age as Light at the beginning and are adults, and that's what clearly defines L's decision not to call them (besides the fact that they are literally nobodies until he dies).

All the characters are as thin as paper, with some nuance that doesn't even need to be interpreted; it's just thrown in the viewer's face. For example, L says that Light's father could kill Light and then commit suicide. What a load of crap. Will I be allowed to guess anything on my own in this series? Oh, and what about why Light decided to have amnesia? There's no diegetic answer because Light is always faking it, and I can believe he's capable of doing anything simply by acting, rather than losing his memory. L's entire description of Soichiro Yagami is unnecessary once you have the ridiculous scene in the car because seriously, again, what's the point of the amnesia? I don't need a character to say it's going to rain if it's going to rain anyway, but the rain doesn't mean anything.

So that's just a "what if" scenario in the middle of the series: "Look, Light could be a good cop without the Death Note." That's great, thanks, but that's not the story you wanted to tell me.

L says that Misa is suspect number one again, she dies in front of everyone, and time passes, and she's still around. It's practically a completely unresolved issue.
