1991 Rockhopper that's been babied for 35 years
Picked this up recently and still kind of in disbelief about the condition. 1991 Specialized Rockhopper, sat somewhere for decades and came to me basically untouched.
Frame is in near-mint shape, rims look like they rolled out of a shop last week, paint is immaculate.
Previous owner knew what he was doing and did some nice upgrades back in the day:
\- Rear derailleur: Deore XT (RD-M739)
\- Front derailleur: Deore XT (FD-M730)
\- Shifters: Deore XT thumbshifters (SL-M732)
\- Brakes: XT cantilevers and XT pads
\- Cockpit: Tioga T-Bone stem + seatpost
The M732 thumbies are the star of the show for me.
Only thing I did: adjusted rear derailleur, brakes, and swapped in some Panaracer Darts. Otherwise, it is exactly as it came to me. I dusted it off, no restoring, no medernizing.
