Do I need GamePass to play games on PC away from home?
I have an Xbox One X and primarily play games that I own (i.e., no GamePass) at home, but I will be travelling for about a month or more. I have a gaming PC as well that I’ll be bringing with me, so I’d like play my Xbox games remotely through my PC.
I know that there’s an option to stream from Xbox to PC, but that currently requires being on the same network, and I’ll be travelling for a month+. When looking at the details for Xbox “Remote Play” that lets you play on phones (and allegedly PC too), it looks like I should be able to play remotely, but each time I’ve tried that on my phone, I’ve got an error saying that it couldn’t be launched and I don’t see this option on my PC.
Is GamePass required to do what I’m trying to do?
**Edit**: Did some digging, and yep, it looks like GamePass Ultimate is required to do what I'm trying to accomplish: https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help/games-apps/cloud-gaming/setup-cloud-gaming-windows
