Should I keep my Xbox one S?
As the question states above, I know I’m probably asking “a barber if I need a haircut” here…but still I’ll ask anyway.
I want to know if it makes sense, I’ve had my Xbox One S for the last 5 going on its 6th year.
It’s old and is starting to have its expected hardware issue (had to factory reset it twice within the last year for the first time since owning it). Also running certain games on it just isn’t optimal anymore (Fortnite, Dayz, and other free to play games)
Overall it works fine tho, the reason I’m thinking to sell it was because once I stop paying for the Gamepass and my live expires, I won’t have many games for it.
I would have 13 games in comparison to the 36 titles I have now with the Gamepass/Xbox live gold. Only one of which is a physical hard copy, the rest are all digital.
I also made the decision to get a PS5 as my next gen console primarily because I enjoy the PS exclusives (Spider-Man, God of War, etc) and even backwards compatibility of some titles.
I did notice that Xbox is working on acquiring more game titles which is good in a sense, because that was my main reason for converting back to PlayStation, so maybe down the road I would think about coming back to Xbox if they have interesting titles.
I only really just have one physical disc copy of UFC 2 by EA sports vs like my PS3 that I have…I still have 21 different games I could play on it. I was thinking of selling my PS3 with the games and everything (4 controllers, a headset) but I’m hesitant on that.
Looking back on it I realized I spent a good amount of money on the stuff and I was doubtful anyone would actually want it for anything more than $100.
Whereas with my Xbox one, it’s a little more recent than a PS3 and I can sell it back to a refurbisher for about $140 and give my extra controllers away to my brother. Down the line if I wanted to come back to Xbox, I’d still have an MS account with titles and data saved to MS’s cloud gaming.
So with all that said…should I sell my Xbox one S or keep it?
I’m realistically not going to use it once I’m fully back on PS and get PS plus for it. Maybe someone might be able to convince me otherwise, idk.
