We're down to the "Final Four" for next week ... who do you think the Heir will be?

So, with the release of Heir of Apocalypse #4 next week ... we'll see the final four candidates compete to be the next "Apocalypse" for Earth.

Final candidates being ...

**Forge** - In the new X-Force series (with #1 coming out same day), Forge seemingly has new abilities (seeing "fractures") that drive his team's mission. This would go with Apocalypse's plan for someone with vision trying to change the world. However, the writer did say that in addition to new abilities the winner would get a new name and outfit - which Forge seemingly has not.

**Cable** - One of the big changes being pushed by X-Men editorial is that time travel characters are being "shelved" for now so new readers don't have to deal with the backstory. So this seemingly nixes Cable from being the Heir, unless they side step it and streamline his story by just saying "he's Cyclops grown up son who is now the new Apocalypse."

**Mirage** - Dani would be an interesting curve ball in that she has always been a loyal leader, warrior, and teacher for the X-Men. So her potentially being an antagonist to them would be strange. But she's also been a character that has gone through a variety of name changes and power sets over the years. So it won't be too far fetched for her to be the ultimate winner. Not to mention her statement in the last issue, "There's been too much death. There has to be another way."

**Cypher** - The odds have Doug being the Heir for a variety of reasons: with Krakoa over the purpose he's had for years now is gone, he has the consideration and compassion to truly find a new path (which may be why Apocalypse chose him), he's shown in the past he can be clever and think within a broader scope, there have been stories involving future versions of Doug trying to change the world, and he has a built in partner / horseman with his warrior wife Bei. And giving someone who has historically been considered one of the "weakest" X-Men great power and purpose could be interesting story wise.

My belief is it comes down to Dani or Doug. Who do you think is coming out on top?
