Spiral is such a good song

Even as XTC's star was setting, Andy cooked up such a lovely treat of a melody. With how Andy's on the autism spectrum, I love that he wrote a song about being fixated on certain music to the point of endlessly repeating the same songs.

The Gilbert and Sullivan-like patter tempo and dissonant, punk-y guitar bits are so cool, as are the lyrics "dormant in the black valley of the vinyl" (such a clever way to refer to record grooves" and also rhyming "vinyl" with "spinal."
