Is there a way to stop this from happening?

YouTube keeps doing this weird overlay thing, and I don’t know what’s causing it. It makes it very difficult to do things like fast forward or open full screen. Does anyone know how to stop it?

I’m watching this on my phone, fyi. Brave Browser if that matters, not the YouTube app.
