Synchron Locals Report, 3rd place
I haven’t done a locals report in a long time so here’s one with my newest deck, Synchrons! [Pictures here](http://imgur.com/a/lsOBW) (sorry for potato camera), the full deck list will be at the bottom.
Anyway it was a really small locals this weekend, only four rounds. Sorry in advance for the lack of detail for some of the combos, it’s been two days since the tournament. Before it started I bought two Crossed Souls Advance Edition and pulled a ghost rare Clear Wing Synchro Dragon. Thinking it was a sign I put it in my extra deck over Black Rose Dragons, never ended up making it but black rose would have been useful a few times…

Match 1 – Vs. Lightsworns This guy was new to Yugioh and was playing the single structure deck version of lightsworns. It was a pretty decisive 2-0, the one time he managed to get out Judgement Dragon I had the Divine Wrath to stop it.

Match 2 – Vs. Burning Abyss
Game 1, he went first and opened pretty terrible, only setting one backrow which turned out to be crush card. I opened the 3 card quasar combo (Quickdraw, Level Eater, and Synchron Explorer) and proceeded to OTK him with Quasar.
Game 2, he went first and made Acid Golem and set some backrow. I opened with Junk Synchron, foolish burial and ROTA, searched Doppelwarrior with rota and foolished a Glow-up Bulb. I summoned Junk Synchron and activated its effect and he chained skill drain. That pretty much shut down all my plays and he won a few turns later.
Game 3, I went first and opened amazing ending up with a board of Quasar, Librarian, and two backrow (Solemn Scolding and Shadow-Imprisoning Mirror). He makes Dante first turn and activates its effect milling 3, I took a chance and negated the effect to get rid of Dante and then chained Shadow mirror to the milled Cir effect, he tried to mst the mirror but I negated it with Solemn Scolding. Under Shadow Mirror and facing a Quasar he scooped.

Match 3 – Vs Toons
This entire match was a tough one for synchrons, he ran a lot of traps (lose 1 turn, Mirror Force, Toon briefcase etc.) which were pretty effective at shutting down my combos. Game 1 he opens with Toon Kingdom, Toon masked sorcerer, Lose 1 Turn and Double mirror force. I open decent and go into librarian, he flips Lose 1 Turn and pretty much shuts down my combo for that turn. I get out a Drill Warrior and hope to start making plays next turn but on my next turn I run into the mirror force and scoop.
Game 2, I sided in a lot of trap hate, all of my MSTs and Fairy Winds. Siding in that many cards probably hurt my consistency by a decent amount but I open really good anyways. Turn one I end with a Librarian, Road Warrior and Drill warrior on board and a MST and Fairy Wind I drew into face down. He opens Toon Kingdom, Toon Masked Sorcerer and three backrow. I MST the Kingdom when he attacks with masked sorcerer and he ends his turn. I get out Scrap Dragon, synchroing with the drill warrior (misplay, I should have gone into Quasar) and he flips Lose 1 turn, I hit it with fairy wind and then use scrap dragons effect to pop a level eater and his second backrow.
Neither of his backrow so far were mirror force and I was reading one for his final backrow so I switch Road Warrior to Defense and attack direct with Librarian and Scrap dragon. He goes summoning toon gemini elf and a backrow then passing. On my turn I pop the new backrow with scrap dragon and then synchro Formula off of level eater and the summoned jet syncron. I draw into mst and use it to pop that last backrow, a Storming Mirror Force! With the fear of backrow gone I attack for game.
Game 3 we went into time pretty quickly, I opened MST and Fairy wind so I was able to shut down his traps and do enough damage to win in time.

Match 4 – Vs. Kozmos.
Game 1 I brick really hard, my only monster was a Synchron Explorer. He opened double Emergency Teleport so I end up scooping pretty quick.
Game 2, I go first and open better. I normal mathematician to mill level eater, Special Quickdraw by pitching Glow-up Bulb and go into Road Warrior with the level eater’s help. I set up a Trish play, Formula synchron and level eater on the field along with the level 6 Road Warrior. He activates Kozmotown and after resolution I go into trish to banish the kozmotown and a Goodwitch from his hand. He has an E tele to get farmgirl out and an honest to attack over the Trishula, he then goes into Goodwich and finally into Forerunner. On my turn I get out a Jet warrior to bounce his backrow and synchro for Armory Arm which I equip to jet warrior, I attack over his Forerunner.
He stalls for a bit and I eventually get him down to 2300 lifepoints. He normals a Maxx C and flips the torrential I bounced earlier clearing the board. I draw a card, pitch it to special Jet synchron from grave, and then tribute Jet Synchron to special Jet Warrior. I special Level eater to make Jet Warrior a 4 and then Special Glow-up Bulb and synchro into Armades for the win.
Game 3 he has me go first and it goes into time right after I start. At our locals we only get 3 turns for time (current player is turn 0) so I know I’ll only get one turn to attack. I opened really good though and made a board of Quasar and Road warrior with a Divine Wrath and Imperial Iron Wall for backrow. He opens better with *both* Dark holes, I negate the first one and the second one wipes the field. I special Shooting Star Dragon and he passes. For my final turn I only have doppelwarrior and Glow-up bulb in hand so I go ahead and attack with Shooting Star Dragon and he specials Juragedo gaining him 1000 life points and protection from the attack. I couldn’t do anything after that to do any damage to him so he takes game 3.
Record 3-1

I barely lose the tiebreaker in points and end up with third place. Overall it was a fun tournament, a lot of the top players at the locals were gone so there weren’t as many meta decks. Against the decks I faced in the tournamet Double Summon and Rush warrior were surprisingly useful while Stardust Warrior and Clear Wing Synchro Dragon didn’t really do anything. I'm undecided on divine wrath so far.
