[TOTK] I'm missing something/doing something wrong

Hi all,

I recently bought a Switch and Tears of the Kingdom is my second Zelda game (I've played one before on GBA or DS).

All reviews are extremely positive, so I wanted to enjoy this game. But I guess there is something I'm doing wrong. All enemies are extremely powerful (Game Over in 1 hit) and there seems to be no way to level up/ get stronger. I can't progress through the quests, because there is no way to win from stronger enemies.

Furthermore: In the snowy area, you can buy clothing which is cold resistant. This is 700 rupees. I only got 80 for shooting some rabbits. Resources sell for just a few rupees. I didn't find any other way to make money (like getting in job in some other games).

All I'm doing is completing some shrines and that seems to be all there is.

I think that I'm to blame and not the game. It seems I'm completely missing something.

Please help!
